Dr. Bullard served in engineering and management positions within Eastman Chemical Company from 1991-2000. A faculty member at NC State since 2000, Dr. Bullard’s research interests lie in the area of educational scholarship, including teaching and advising effectiveness, academic integrity, process design instruction, and the integration of writing, speaking, and computing within the curriculum. She received her BS in Chemical Engineering from NC State and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Richard Zollars

Dr. Zollars received his B.ChE. from the University of Minnesota and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. After receiving his Ph.D. he worked for three years for the Union Carbide Corporation before teaching at the University of Colorado for one year and at Washington State University for 35 years. Over the past 20 years he has received grants totaling $2.6 million in support of educational activities. These have included activities with over 150 K-12 teachers, modernization of laboratories, software development to help students thru gateway classes, and implementation of studio-based instructional approaches in engineering classes. He currently teaches the material and energy balance class to over 100 students using the “flipped classroom” approach and clickers.
